At Rachel's Rabbits, I aim to accommodate clients and provide the best pet care and customer service as possible. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about any of our policies. A copy of our policies can be found on our website as well. Please be aware your bunnies may be photographed or taped for social media use.

Scheduling:

Drop off and pickups will be worked out ahead of time in order to accomodate your schedule. If I am not available at a specific time, I will let you know. I answer phone calls and messages from 9 am to 8 pm seven days a week.

All scheduling requests can be emailed directly to [email protected] or placed through the online scheduling system, Simplybookme, as well as requested through social media, text message or via phone call. All scheduling requests will be confirmed via writing through the means listed above.

*Special note:
LATE REQUESTS: any service requests submitted within 48 hours of the requested service window will incur a $15 emergency service fee. Please note that we cannot guarantee any scheduling requests submitted without advance notice of at least 24 hours. Weekend and holiday scheduling requests should be placed with as much notice as possible in order to ensure service.

Please note, we will not be able to accommodate same day requests. At least 24 hours notice is needed, preferably at least 48 hours.

Cancellations

All cancellation requests can be emailed directly to [email protected], placed through the online scheduling system Simplybookme, text message, social media message or phone call.

My scheduling is limited due to only being able to take rabbits from one household at a time, and if I am not available, I can refer you to a rabbit sitter I personally know and have used in the past.

Cancellations for overnight stays must be made within three days of the scheduled drop off time. If not, you will be charged in full for the first day of service as well as 25% of the total cost of the scheduled overnights.

Cancellations for holiday services must be made within three days of the scheduled service or you will be charged in full for the service on the actual holiday. For visits spanning multiple days you will be charged 25% of the total services.

Communications

Please direct all communications including schedule requests and cancellations, account updates, special requests or instructions for your pet, etc. directly to me via email, phone call, text or social media message.

Payment Policy

Payment can be made upon drop off but no later than by the pickup date. You can pay in cash, paypal, or through Stripe.

Safety

At Rachel's Rabbits, I prioritize the safety of all of the bunnies in my care. I will not at any point board rabbits from other households at the same time when confirming a booking. I will not have any other pet in the house other than rabbits. I do not board cats, dogs or other animals.

Your rabbit will never be let outside, period. Outside is dangerous and has way too many risks, such as panic/fear (hearing something scary), predators, disease, the sun (heat stroke etc), the elements, running away, etc. I want to keep your rabbit safe so you have peace of mind while away. I also agree to keep my home free of hazards such as keeping all cords up and away from rabbits, providing the approprate diet and housing, performing daily health checks (as described below), and to keep them away and out of other dangers such the outside. All items such as food bowls, water bowls, toys etc will be cleaned prior to the arrival of a rabbit.

Health & Emergencies

Any health issues or concerns such as medication needs, health needs, dietary needs etc should be discussed prior to scheduling.

Every day that your rabbit is with me (rabbits if boarding multiple) I will do a daily health assessment such as observing how they move, how they eat/ate, their activity, peeing and pooping, water intake, dental health (aka checking their teeth), eye check, ear check and checking the nails. If your rabbit needs a nail trim, I will provide it no charge. Medication will also be given at no charge. Litter boxes are to be provided by the client and cleaned by me at least once weekly, earlier if necessary.

In the event of an emergency, I will notify you ASAP that something is wrong and transport your rabbit(s) to a rabbit savvy vet as recommended by the House Rabbit Society. On Long Island, that includes Catnips & Carrots Vet Hospital (New Hyde Park), Port Jefferson Animal Hospital (Port Jefferson Station), or Island Exotics (Huntington) depending on vet availability. In the event you cannot be reached, I reserve the right to make medical decisions on your behalf in order to ensure the health and well-being of your rabbit. All medical expenses paid by Rachel's Rabbit must be reimbursed by the client. By utilizing our rabbit care services you consent to allow me to provide your pet with medical attention if necessary and to reimburse any expenses paid.

Liability

Rachel's Rabbit provides high quality rabbit boarding and sitting services. For the purposes of the contract, the term “Rachel's Rabbits” refers to the company. The term “client” refers to the rabbit owner and engaging the services of Rachel's Rabbits. The term “pet “ ( in both singular and plural forms) means any rabbit under the care of Rachel's Rabbits.

As the client, you understand that potential harm could occur to your rabbit while in the care of Rachel's Rabbits. You agree to release and hold harmless Rachel's Rabbits from all liability including its owner, should your pet become lost, injured or should my home suffer any damage not due to any negligence on Rachel's Rabbits.

You hereby grant permission to Rachel's Rabbits to act on your behalf, and in your rabbits best interest, by obtaining veterinary care, should deem it necessary for the health and well being of my pet. You further agree to pay for / or reimburse the cost of any and all veterinary or reasonable necessary services whose costs Rachel's Rabbit may incur. You also, attest that your rabbit does not suffer from any life threatening or contagious condition.

Understanding the risks as stated above, you freely and voluntarily enter into this contract as soon as scheduling is , including the release and waiver, with Rachel's Rabbits. This contract is full and complete and hereby agree to these terms.
